2018 marked the 150th anniversary of the iconic Smithfield Markets. To recognise the occasion, a weekend of free, family-fun took place over August Bank Holiday celebrating the area's history and establishing it as a cultural destination.

The hand-painted logotype drew inspiration from signage found around the markets and the area's history of type foundries. A host of illustrated party people celebrated the diversity of the area and helped welcome 25,000 visitors across the two days - making Smithfield 150 London's biggest birthday party.
